Common Name: Golden Robinia / Black Locust`

'Frisia' is a hardy, medium sized, deciduous tree that is fast growing. It has bright yellow / golden pinnate leaves in spring that soften to green in the warmer months having only the new growth yellow. Bunches of creamy white, lightly perfumed, pea-like flowers occur in late spring / early summer.

It round canopy shape makes for a wonderful shade tree and because of the colour of the foliage it creates a great feature and contrast to other trees and shrubs in the garden.

'Frisia' prefers full sun for best growth and foliage colour but will take part shade. Likes well drained soils with mulch to help retain summer moisture but can tolerate a wide range of soil types. Frost hardy and can tolerate dry periods and 2nd line coastal exposure; Robinia 'Frisia' is a suitable tree for most gardens.
