Common Name: Port Wine Magnolia
This is an attractive, evergreen shrub with glossy green leaves. It produces highly perfumed flowers in spring and summer that aren't showy but smell fantastic.
Ideal as a flowering hedge or screen, or as a gap filler where a splash of mid green is needed. Either way it will delight any passer by with its sweet fragrance.
Performs best in full sun but can tolerate part-shade. Moist, free draining, slightly acidic and fertile soils. Mulch in the warmer months to keep root system cooler.
