Product Code: BETFAS
Common Name: Upright Birch
The Upright Birch is a narrow form of Silver Birch. It has typical green birch leaves that changes to golden yellow in autumn. The trunk is white after a couple of years making it contrast beautifully with the foliage.
Being a narrow form and only growing to approximately 10mts tall x 3mts wide.
Upright Birch is often used as fence line screens, along driveways, in group plantings or as specimens to highlight entrances etc.
Birch have a fairly fibrous root system which means they're not likely to crack walls, damage slabs or crush pipes if planted too close. It does mean, however, mulch is required for the summer months to help retain moisture.
They prefer full sun or part shade and well drained, fertile, moist soil.
