Acmena smithii 'Firescreen' pbr

A hardy, fast-growing native ideal for hedging, topiary, or privacy screens. ‘Fire Screen’ features lush, glossy mid-green foliage with striking copper-red new growth that matures to a soft bronze. Its dense, upright habit holds foliage right to the ground, creating a full, tidy appearance with minimal maintenance.
In spring, it produces fluffy white flowers that attract pollinators, followed by a light crop of edible purple berries. This variety is psyllid-resistant, rarely troubled by pests or disease, and responds exceptionally well to pruning—whether for formal hedging or shaped specimens.
Naturally reaching up to 4–5m high and 1.5–3m wide, it can easily be maintained at smaller sizes. Grows best in full sun to part shade and adapts to a range of soil types, preferring well-drained soils. Drought and light frost tolerant once established.
Perfect for residential gardens, courtyards, narrow spaces, and poolside planting.
